In Hluhluwe Game Reserve Operation Rhino in the 1950s and 60s became world renowned as the first white rhino conservation project saving the species from extinction.
There were less than 20 rhinos worldwide in 1900. Today more than 10,000 exist with over 1600 white rhino in the reserve and thousands of these magnificent animals are now also found in game reserves worldwide.
