Elephant Encounter – Bayete Zulu

Guests seeking a deeper meaning to their visit may wish to observe wildlife at close quarters. While little can match the thrill of seeing wild elephants in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, guests are also afforded the opportunity to encounter two mature elephants that were orphaned and hand-reared, but now range freely across a private wildlife reserve of over 2,500 hectares.

These two elephants come up to visit the viewing area each morning for a welcome snack. From here you can observe them in a calm, well-managed setting and enjoy superb interpretation of the elephant species — enlightening, and a clear reflection of the care and concern afforded to these two magnificent animals.
